6 great reasons to choose a barn wedding
Spacious, romantic, versatile and full of character, a luxury wedding barn is an ideal venue in which to celebrate your big day.
One of the most difficult elements of planning your wedding is finding the perfect venue for your big day. There are so many options out there that couples really are spoilt for choice. A luxury barn makes an ideal venue for a wedding.
One of the great things about barn venues is that they tend to have a rich history, which gives them an extra bit of charm and character, and helps to make your wedding even more memorable. Our Baronial Hall was constructed in the early seventeenth century and is considered to be one of the finest examples of a Tudor / Jacobean barn. The hall itself is constructed from original ship’s timbers which, along with one of the rarest wood block floors in Britain, gives it another quirky element and a beautiful unique look.
A blank canvas
With some venues you may find that the colours and accessories you choose for your wedding are restricted as you don’t want to clash with the existing furnishings and décor. You don’t have that problem with a barn wedding. With high ceilings, natural materials and a neutral colour scheme, a barn venue is an almost totally blank canvas, enabling you to express your own style and personality. Barns may lend themselves perfectly to rustic, vintage-themed weddings, but they also look just as great when dressed for a more contemporary or glamorous affair.
By their nature, barns tend to be situated in rural settings in the midst of scenic countryside, which can only be good news for your wedding photographs – and our barn weddings in Essex are no different. Crondon Park is located in the heart of the Crondon valley, which offers breathtaking views across the Essex countryside. And this scenic location, combined with our landscaped gardens ensures that your wedding has a naturally stunning backdrop that few venues can rival.
Many original farm buildings had open-fronted animal pens or large openings for farm vehicles to drive through. In today’s contemporary barn conversions, this often translates to large feature windows that help to create a light and airy atmosphere. This abundance of natural light is also a photographer’s dream, providing a perfect environment in which to capture some beautiful indoor shots.
Whether it’s the high ceilings, oak beams, soft candlelight or beautiful countryside views, there’s something about a barn wedding that is undeniably romantic. For example, Crondon Park’s barn venue has period chandeliers and is surrounded by secluded gardens – the Baronial Hall oozes understated romance. To up the romance factor even further, try adding some sweet, rustic touches such as bunches of colourful wildflowers or tealight-filled jam jars.
Plenty of space
Another great benefit of barn venues is that they tend to be on the large side and so are great at accommodating bigger weddings, without the need for a marquee. Crondon’s Baronial Hall can accommodate up to 148 people for the wedding breakfast and 220 for the evening reception, so there’s no need to compromise when it comes to the guest list. Instead, you can enjoy your special day surrounded by all the people you love the most.
Spacious, romantic, versatile and full of character – a barn offers everything you could want from a wedding venue. Still not sure?
